의과대학 의료정보학교실 박래웅·김청수 교수팀이 보건복지부가 지원하는 2026년 임무중심 R&D 한국형 ARPA-H 프로젝트 신규과제에 선정됐다. 한국형 ARPA-H(Advanced Research Projects Agency for Health)는 국가적 난제를 해결하고 의료·건강 분야의 혁신을 목표로 하는 도전형 R&D 사업이다.
We held a group meal to bid farewell to Bahir Ghani, who spent one month with the Department of Biomedical Informatics at Ajou University through the MD student research exchange program (PI: Rae Woong Park). We wish Bahir all the best for the future.
Prof Chungsoo Kim has recently assumed a new position as an Adjunct Assistant Professor in the Section of Cardiovascular Medicine at Yale School of Medicine and the YNHH Center for Outcomes Research and Evaluation (CORE), effective July 2026. Through this position, he will continue to contribute to pharmacoepidemiology and AI research utilizing large-scale healtcare data, especially OMOP and Epic Cosmos, and will serve as a bridge between Korea and the United States, as well as between OHDSI and Yale community. Congratulations.
We attended the Spring Conference of the Korean Society of Medical Informatics, held at Cheongju OSCO from June 24 to 26, 2026. Prof. Kim and students from our lab participated. On June 26, Prof. Kim served as the chair of the session on cardiovascular and cerebrovascular disease research using standardized medical big data. It was our first academic conference attended as a group. We hope that our lab will actively participate in oral and poster presentation sessions at the next conference!
May is Family Month and a month of gratitude, a time to express appreciation to those around us. Thankfully, we had our first lab meal, including two interns who joined the lab with a promise to pursue a master’s degree (LOL). In addition, we were able to meet and greet several graduates who visited the Department of Biomedical Informatics at Ajou University for the first time in a long while.

We are pleased to announce that the Ajou Health Data Science Lab (PI Prof. Chungsoo Kim) has been selected for the New Faculty Research Grant, hosted by the Ajou University School of Medicine (AUSOM). The funded research project is titled “Development of Agentic AI Framework for Medical Observational Research.” Our laboratory will receive full support from the School of Medicine for a period of 1 year to carry out this project. We remain committed to advancing the field of health data science through this opportunity.
We are thrilled to announce that Dr. Chanyang Min has joined the Ajou Health Data Science Lab as a Research Instructor, effective April 1, 2026. As an expert in nutrition and health data analytics, Dr. Min brings extensive experience in analyzing national health insurance claims data and the Korea National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (KNHANES). Moving forward, Dr. Min will play a key role in generating robust medical evidence through extensive collaborative research with various clinical departments. We are pleased to announce that as of March 1, 2026, Dr. Chungsoo Kim have officially joined Ajou University as a new faculty member. Along with this new role, We have officially launched the Ajou Health Data Science Lab within the Department of Biomedical Informatics at the Ajou University School of Medicine. Our laboratory is located within the department’s facilities on the 5th floor of Hongjae Building at Ajou University.
